Key Responsibilities

•Own technical accounting across revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, capitalized software, leases, business combinations, and complex financing instruments.
•Own GAAP financial statement preparation and footnote disclosures from the ground up, including MD&A and registration disclosures.
•Quarterback external audits—build policy libraries, stand up the PBC process, and serve as primary technical contact for auditors; defend positions.
•Scope and manage external technical accounting advisors; decide when to bring them in and ensure they meet standards.
•Lay the foundation for SEC reporting (S-1, 10-K, 10-Q) and SOX readiness; design workflows, controls, and calendars for public-company operations.

Key Requirements

•Active CPA with strong Big 4 or national firm foundation.
•8+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting and/or financial reporting with deep fluency in US GAAP.
•Hands-on technical experience across revenue (ASC 606), equity compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and business combinations (ASC 805).
•Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and footnotes from scratch, including MD&A disclosures.
•Experience managing external auditors and external accounting consultants; ability to scope, direct, and push back.
