Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership and assurance for cave management activities to support safe, productive, sustainable block cave operations.
  • •Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of the Cave Management Framework, including major hazard management requirements.
  • •Monitor and interpret cave performance using monitoring data, draw data, indicators, and underground observations, including Smart Markers, extensometers, and microseismic systems.
  • •Review abnormal cave behavior and investigate issues such as air gaps, cave stalls, dilution events, and subsidence-related problems with recommendations and corrective actions.
  • •Maintain cave monitoring plans and databases, ensure data quality and reporting, and mentor engineers and technicians in cave management practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or civil engineering (or equivalent).
  • •Minimum 10+ years of underground caving mine experience.
  • •Advanced experience in ground control, including ground support design/installation, mine sequencing, and major hazard management for caving.
  • •Block cave mining experience is highly desirable.
  • •Proven leadership and strong HSE/quality commitment, with excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
