Job Summary

Join VMware Cloud Foundation’s AI & Advanced Services team as a Software Systems Engineer building Kubernetes-based platform services for private AI. Design scalable systems, contribute to upstream CNCF projects, and collaborate across teams to deliver AI infrastructure features (Model Gallery, ML API Gateway, Data Indexing). Hands-on with Kubernetes, Operators, and cloud-native practices to enable enterprise AI workloads.

Job Function: IT Operations (Systems/Network Admin)

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver expanded capabilities of Kubernetes-based platform services for AI
•Decompose vague problems into detailed requirements, and develop solutions that meet the needs of our customers
•Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the feature set
•Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is aligned with VMware's coding standards and best practices
•Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Private AI services and how those services interface with other components of the stack such as storage, networking, etc.

Key Requirements

•B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or related technical field with 10+ years of software industry experience, with possible focus on Control Plane, AI/ML, and QA/QE.
•5+ years experience in scalable distributed systems
•Experience in Go, C++, or systems-level Python, or demonstrated mastery of programming and willingness to learn a new language
•5+ years hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
•Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining Kubernetes Operators is a big plus
