Job Summary

Provide central execution control for SMBC’s EMEA Front Office across loans, derivative and trade finance products. You’ll onboard new credit limits, review and approve lending documentation and GBR terms and conditions, validate guarantees and risk-mitigating documents, and ensure conditions precedent and covenant obligations are satisfied prior to funding and drawdown. Partner with Front Office, Planning and local offices to manage exposures, register collateral/guarantees in Loan IQ/GBR, and support accurate transaction capture in core systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide pre-execution operational review and approval of lending documentation to meet systematic and operational booking requirements.
•Review and approve GBR terms and conditions against lending documentation to ensure alignment and avoid breaches.
•Validate and approve guarantee and risk-mitigating documentation (including Risk Participation agreements) prior to execution.
•Review and approve conditions precedent before funding and drawdown; originate and approve borrower covenant obligations in the bank’s operating system.
•Support exposure management by registering and approving collateral/guarantees in Loan IQ and GBR and coordinating documentation/booking with Front Office and planning teams.
