Extend credit for commercial customers in line with the bank’s loan policy, ensuring lending decisions, documentation, and credit files are accurate and compliant with laws and regulations. Interview applicants, analyze credit and financial history, evaluate collateral, and authorize or recommend loan approvals, denials, and risk-rating changes. Manage and monitor an assigned loan portfolio, develop new lending prospects, and support collections, workout programs, and reserve monitoring for problem loans.

Key Responsibilities

•Extend credit according to the loan policy, ensuring lending decisions and documentation comply with laws and regulations.
•Interview commercial loan applicants and evaluate credit/financial history; assess collateral adequacy when applicable.
•Prepare loan offering memorandums, ensure loan documents are complete and accurate, and close/decline loans timely.
•Monitor an assigned loan portfolio, recommend risk-rating changes, and maintain current credit files and security documents.
•Develop new business and manage the existing portfolio, including collecting past-due payments and recommending workout programs for problem loans.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in general business, finance, economics, or accounting (or equivalent) and 5+ years lending experience.
•5+ years experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis; plus 2+ years using Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Broad knowledge of accounting, finance, and business administration to evaluate applicants and loans.
•Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
•Ability to analyze probability/statistics concepts and solve practical credit-related problems with limited standardization.
