Job Summary

Build and enhance HSBC’s AI Gateway platform by designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining core services and integrations. Key Responsibilities

•Build and enhance the AI Gateway platform by designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining core services and integrations.
•Respond to SRE alerts by triaging incidents, mitigating issues, driving recovery, and performing root-cause analysis with preventive fixes/automation.
•Troubleshoot usage issues and respond to user queries while keeping basic runbooks/FAQs up to date.
•Implement and operate API/AI gateway behaviors such as routing, policy enforcement, rate limiting, authentication/authorisation, and observability.
•Support production operations across cloud services, Kubernetes ingress and networking strategies, and high-throughput asynchronous messaging systems.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related) and 5+ years of software engineering experience building or operating large-scale platform, infrastructure, or developer platform services.
•Hands-on experience with API gateway and/or AI gateway patterns, including LLM/provider routing, policy enforcement, rate limiting, tenant isolation, authentication/authorisation, and observability; Kong API Gateway preferred.
•Strong programming skills in Golang or Python/Java, with solid concurrency and distributed systems performance fundamentals.
•Experience with Golang, Lua, Nginx, OpenResty, and Kong, including custom plugin development, request/response transformations, traffic management, and performance tuning.
•Practical Kubernetes experience and production operations on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba Cloud), including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning.
