•Provide expert advice on the impact of sanctions regimes (UK, EU, and other regimes) to SMBC’s corporate strategy and risk appetite framework.
•Collaborate with a broad range of senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, business departments, committees and management, and coordinate with external counsel as required.
•Act as the main STPD-Legal representative on sanctions and financial crime matters and related cross-departmental projects.
•Work autonomously and with internal teams to deliver timely, efficient legal guidance and risk assessments.
•Support the London-based Legal team in managing regulatory risk and advising on banking/finance/capital markets products.
