Job Summary

Lead commercial banking growth in an assigned market by executing strategy to build awareness and expand the commercial client base. Develop regional centers of influence and deepen relationships across Tompkins lines of business, managing sales targets, reporting, and team performance. Provide direct service to commercial customers for deposit and loan solutions, support underwriting with credit administration, and monitor portfolio quality and problem credit. Recruit talent to expand the regional team.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and execute strategy to establish awareness and grow the commercial banking client base across the assigned market.
•Establish annual quantitative sales objectives with the Bank President and hold the regional team accountable for soliciting new business and cross-selling.
•Collect and provide sales information for monthly and year-to-date performance reporting; monitor sales performance vs. objectives and provide status updates to the Bank President.
•Maintain expertise in commercial credit products, provide direct service to customers, and approve or reject loan applications within lending authority when applicable.
•Partner with credit administration in underwriting and credit approval, monitor existing client performance, detect/report problem credit, and maintain quality of the loan portfolio.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 185,000 - 205,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
•10+ years’ experience in commercial lending or combined experience in commercial credit analysis and banking, with demonstrated sales and business development results.
•Strong customer service skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills.
•Broad understanding of personal and commercial financial statements and accounting/finance principles; knowledge of business law including real estate practices, lien law principles, and the Uniform Commercial Code.
