Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive battery pack development from concept to production, owning performance requirements, cost targets, reliability issue resolution, and design-for-manufacturing support.
  • •Act as the core interface between the Core Battery Group and internal product teams throughout the program lifecycle.
  • •Collaborate with program teams to translate user stories and CONOPs into actionable ESS requirements.
  • •Lead battery cell selection using accelerated de-risking and validation processes, and partner with mechanical engineers on design iteration through prototype and production packs.
  • •Support manufacturing ramp and perform hands-on battery bring-up, testing, debugging, vehicle integration, and fielded-system root-cause analysis to drive countermeasures and design updates.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or fundamental Physical Sciences with an applied focus on energy storage technologies, plus 10+ years designing, testing, and troubleshooting energy storage systems.
  • •Past ownership of battery pack design and prototype assembly.
  • •Demonstrated experience delivering high-performance energy storage systems with substantial technical ownership from prototype to production.
  • •Professional awareness of at least one: battery management system (BMS) electrical design, BMS algorithms/software functionality, or BMS validation against operational requirements.
  • •Basic capabilities with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and understanding of battery safety standards such as UN38.3 and/or NAVSEA S9310.
