Job Summary

Deliver power system studies that enable renewable generation to connect safely and appropriately to complex grid and transmission assets. Conduct load flow and advanced analyses (short circuit, arc-flash, stability, reliability), produce technical recommendations for clients, and support proposal inputs and project delivery. Apply Power Factor, ETAP, PSCAD (or similar) tools as a power studies super user, and mentor engineers while collaborating across energy, technical, project, and client teams in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Complete and deliver load flow studies and analysis for steady state and dynamic power flow.
•Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc-flash, stability, and reliability assessments.
•Provide evidence-based insights and recommendations to clients across generation, substation, transmission, and renewable assets.
•Use power system tools as a super user, including Power Factor, ETAP and PSCAD experience (or related analysis tools).
•Contribute to proposals, support project delivery planning/scheduling, and mentor/coach other engineers in power studies.

Key Requirements

•6+ years (ideally more) delivering Power System Studies or Grid Connection analysis for dynamic or island systems.
•Prepare technical study reports for Renewable Energy Grid Connection works covering wind, solar PV, hybrid, and BESS assets.
•Use, apply, and interpret power system tools including DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD (or equivalent).
•Experience with relevant Australian regulations (or equivalent New Zealand standards and regulations).
•Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related), ideally supported by a Chartered Engineering designation or working towards it.
