Mobile Diesel Technician II at Cox Fleet performs DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance, and light-to-mid repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, repair, and test heavy- and light-duty truck equipment, manage parts on a service truck, and document findings while operating under safety regulations with independent daily scheduling and cross-location teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems, engine electronics, and related components.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using diagnostic tools and road test vehicles to verify proper operation.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including daily pre-/post-trip checks.
•Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT application and other company standards.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
•This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment
•A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical
•Applicants must be at least 21 years or older and have a valid state-of-residence driver’s license
