Job Summary

Join TikTok’s Global E-Commerce Privacy team to advise stakeholders on privacy and data protection laws affecting global e-commerce operations. Monitor regulatory developments, review new products and features, and guide compliance for creator, merchant, buyer, logistics, payments, communications, and sensitive data. Support privacy impact reviews, governance, and third-party/intra-group data sharing contracts while coordinating multi-jurisdictional counsel across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

•Monitor, analyze, and advise on global privacy and data protection laws, regulatory developments, and enforcement trends impacting TikTok’s e-commerce business.
•Review e-commerce product features and initiatives to identify applicable legal and regulatory requirements and guide compliance with privacy and data protection laws and TikTok policies.
•Advise on e-commerce privacy issues across collection, use, sharing, retention, and cross-border transfer of creator, merchant, buyer, logistics, payments, communications, and sensitive data.
•Assess and advise on third-party and intra-group data sharing arrangements, including vendor onboarding, data processing terms, cross-border transfer requirements, and privacy-related contractual provisions.
•Support compliance assessments and privacy impact reviews, help drive global privacy strategy, and develop and implement privacy policies, governance processes, and controls across markets.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent law degree, with qualification to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
•At least 5+ years of privacy-related legal experience.
•In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, related UK rules, and the EU AI Act, plus UK/EU regulatory guidance.
•Experience advising multinational businesses on privacy matters, including data collection/use, cross-border transfers, and counseling on product features and merchant/creator/customer data.
•Strong communication and judgment, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical advice for business and product teams.
