Job Summary

Lead development planning and transport consultancy for residential and mixed-use projects, providing specialist advice from site appraisal through planning approvals and implementation support. Prepare and manage transport studies such as Transport Statements/Assessments, Travel Plans, Parking and Access Studies, and Movement and Access Studies. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients across the planning process, deliver projects to budget/programme/technical standards, and mentor others in transport junction modelling tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide day-to-day support delivering concept studies/strategies and transport planning outputs including Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Parking Studies, Access Studies, and Movement and Access Studies.
•Lead and manage planning applications and post-permission/discharge of planning condition works, ensuring delivery to budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements.
•Manage and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues and staff, serving as a lead client contact for consultancy services.
•Keep up-to-date with relevant standards and policies, and support business growth through networking and attending conferences.
•Support stakeholder engagement, design team liaison, and project management; provide guidance and mentoring to technical staff where needed.

Key Requirements

•A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related subject.
•Significant experience delivering a wide range of transport planning projects across development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport and active travel.
•Knowledge of appropriate transport planning guidance and best practice, including junction design (priority, roundabout, signals) and relevant standards.
•Working knowledge of junction modelling software such as Junctions 9 (PICADY & ARCADY) and Linsig, with enough experience to mentor others and interpret results.
•Experience managing projects financially and by programme, with responsibilities including line management and day-to-day operations.
