Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide MFLC non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling directly to service members and families at primary/secondary locations within a military unit; include assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via mobile/web application while maintaining confidentiality.
  • •Cultivate relationships with unit commanders and points of contact; build professional relationships with installation POC and command.
  • •Maintain visibility within the brigade/regiment to ensure MFLC services are accessible and coordinate with community resources while preserving confidentiality.
  • •Respond to critical incidents, surges, and special requests per POC and DoD program manager; adjust schedule as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 59,922 - 100,280 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s Degree in a Mental Health field from an accredited graduate program; independent license to practice counseling (e.g., LCSW-C, LC- MFT, LCPC, or Psychologist) with unrestricted license
  • •Minimum of one year of post-licensure clinical experience
  • •Demonstrated intermediate-level tech skills (Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, smartphone/tablet navigation, videoconferencing)
  • •Ability to engage with military members and families and respond to emergent situations in various locations on a military installation; willingness to travel to TDY locations if required
  • •US citizenship evidence and ability to speak fluent English
