Job Summary

Lead civil and environmental engineering work for the Earth & Environment team, primarily supporting energy and waste industry projects. You’ll oversee tasks across hydrology, hydraulics, civil design, water management, construction documents, regulatory compliance, and surface water management, coordinating with geotechnical and environmental teams. Responsibilities include developing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports and visualizations, maintaining QA/QC, preparing HASPs, and guiding entry-level engineers with professional communication and some travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing site, survey, blueprint, GIS, hydrologic, geotechnical, and utility data to support project development, design, and construction.
•Perform civil engineering research and inspections of site conditions and infrastructure to determine compliance with applicable rules, standards, and permits.
•Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layout plans in coordination with owners and other disciplines.
•Prepare reports, presentations, calculations, and visualizations, and maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements and statistical reporting.
•Provide technical guidance and training to entry-level engineers, prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), and help manage medium-sized projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (master’s preferred), with relevant post-education engineering experience including prior civil design experience.
•Minimum 7 years of relevant post-education experience and prior civil design experience.
•Professional licensure/certification.
•Ability to perform technical computations and apply engineering principles, interpreting plans/specifications and comparing to regulations.
•Project management experience and strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and guide junior team members with QA/QC adherence.
