Key Responsibilities

  • •Own, operate, and optimize DynamoDB workloads in production, including modeling, indexes, Streams, TTL, backup/restore, and multi-region patterns.
  • •Design, deploy, and maintain both relational and non-relational databases, including sharding, indexing strategies, backups, and performance tuning.
  • •Leverage AWS services across the data stack (e.g., S3, KMS, IAM, CloudWatch, DMS, Lambda) to deliver reliable, observable, and secure data solutions.
  • •Implement automation-as-code for schema/capacity changes and operational guardrails to reduce toil and errors.
  • •Establish observability for databases and lead performance and root-cause investigations, including participating in on-call rotations and escalations.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on senior-level expertise operating DynamoDB in production, including table design/single-table modeling, indexes, Streams, backup/restore, and performance/cost optimization.
  • •Experience with AWS for data platforms fundamentals (IAM, KMS encryption, S3 patterns, CloudWatch monitoring/alerting; DMS and Lambda a plus).
  • •Automation proficiency using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript and the AWS CLI/SDKs to implement repeatable, safe operational guardrails.
  • •Experience with DocumentDB and/or MongoDB administration, including cluster sizing, replication/sharding, indexing, backups, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • •Clear communication in English and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset working with distributed teams.
