Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families, including one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and referrals.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle and respond to requests for age-appropriate seminars.
  • •Use virtual counseling/electronic modes (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications) and manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (bilingual English/Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
  • •Must hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
