Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for the consumer software business (vendor, reseller/channel/retail, marketing partnerships, data-processing terms, and SaaS/cloud agreements).
  • •Own consumer-facing product terms and disclosures, including EULAs, Terms of Service, subscription terms, consent flows, and product notices, and advise on subscription lifecycle and consumer-protection requirements.
  • •Provide day-to-day privacy legal support for Taiwan and assigned APAC markets, including privacy notices, consent mechanisms, data-processing reviews, data-subject rights workflows, and privacy-by-design support.
  • •Partner with Product, Security, and Engineering on product-security regulation, cybersecurity representations, telemetry/threat-data use, vulnerability issues, and privacy/security incident response; co-own AI-governance framework for AI features.
  • •Manage outside counsel engagements and build scalable legal processes (templates, playbooks, approval matrices, product-review checklists, intake processes) to improve self-sufficiency.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. or equivalent law degree; license to practice law in Taiwan or another qualifying jurisdiction relevant to the role.
  • •5-8 years of legal experience, including meaningful in-house experience at a technology, software, digital-commerce, or consumer product company.
  • •Strong product-counseling experience covering EULAs, Terms of Service, consumer disclosures, product launches, and privacy-by-design review.
  • •Strong working knowledge of Taiwan privacy and consumer-protection requirements and familiarity with broader APAC legal/regulatory issues.
  • •Business-level proficiency in Mandarin and English (written and spoken), with the ability to explain legal risk clearly and practically in both languages.
