Job Summary

Drive AMD GPU performance for AI pre-training and distributed inference by improving strategy, architecture, optimization, and tooling across the full software stack. Partner with hardware architecture, AI frameworks, compilers, ROCm/runtime, and developer tools to tune and model large-scale models for LLM, diffusion, multimodal, RecSys, and generative AI. Provide guidance to customers, conduct profiling/analysis, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop the strategy and roadmap for AMD Collectives and Network optimizations.
•Provide customer guidelines for network load-balancing, workload scheduling, and model sharding strategies.
•Perform performance tuning, profiling, and analysis for large-scale models (LLM, diffusion, multimodal, RecSys, generative AI) in single-node and distributed settings.
•Participate in hardware-software co-design for future hardware optimizations, including scale-up networks and NIC/scale-out networks.
•Develop and improve frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for performance estimation, modeling, and reporting; communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 110,600 - 189,600 annually

Key Requirements

•Multiple years of technical experience in performance optimization.
•Strong expertise in performance analysis, projection, and network hardware architecture.
•Hands-on experience with AI frameworks including PyTorch, JAX, vLLM, and SGLang.
•Deep knowledge of network, NIC, and GPU hardware architecture and how software optimization impacts model performance.
•PhD or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
