Key Responsibilities

  • •Development, demonstration, and documentation of design methodologies and tools for additive manufacturing including conventional CAD and implicit modeling-based approaches
  • •Enhancement of design tools through the development of custom modules and scripts
  • •Topology Optimization for generation of geometries enabled by additive manufacturing across structural, thermal, or hydrodynamic domains
  • •Execution of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) projects to support business unit evaluation and adoption of additively manufactured components and systems
  • •Definition of AM software tools and methodologies for interconnection of individual tools into a unified toolchain

Key Requirements

  • •Typically requires a University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • •Expert CAD user (Siemens NX preferred) for mechanical design and product engineering
  • •Advanced scripting experience with CAD tools, Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar
  • •Experience with implicit modeling tools such as nTop including development of custom blocks
  • •Understanding of the AM process using laser powder bed fusion
  • •Experience with finite element analysis (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL)
