Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive underwriting relationship for programs products and services by reviewing complex referrals and approving accounts within authority.
  • •Analyze program referrals to ensure pricing, coverage, and terms comply with underwriting guidelines; present evaluations for management approval.
  • •Conduct research and development for new programs, forms, manuals, and underwriting workups; recommend guideline modifications.
  • •Support program research and development including forms/rate filings, reinsurance submissions, and technical assistance to brokers and underwriting assistants.
  • •Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff; participate in bi-annual underwriting audits and report findings.

Key Requirements

  • •Undergraduate studies focused on Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or Risk Management; degree preferred.
  • •Typically 3+ years of experience as a professional, financial, and/or specialty lines underwriter.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting policies and procedures for professional, financial, and/or specialty lines, including insurance law and underwriting marketing principles.
  • •Working knowledge of financial documents, financial analysis, investments, and market conditions; legal concepts related to insurance, contract, and business law preferred.
