Job Summary

Lead Health, Safety and Training strategy and implementation for a remote greenfield mining project supporting the global energy transition. Initially based in Montreal, then moving to a FIFO site roster as the project advances. You’ll manage HSES leadership and teams, translate project objectives into practical safety plans, manage complex risks and contractor safety, and partner across engineering, construction, environment, communities, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead a team of professionals responsible for Health, Safety and Training, coaching and supporting their development.
•Translate project strategies, objectives, and context into a clear Health and Safety implementation plan.
•Manage complex project risks, impacts, mitigations, and improvement opportunities across the project and associated infrastructure.
•Ensure Health, Safety and Training standards are understood, embedded, monitored, and communicated throughout planning, construction, and operations.
•Partner with engineering and construction teams to design and deliver mitigation strategies and programmes aligned with obligations, schedule, and budget.

•Proven people leadership experience coaching, developing, and mobilizing diverse teams in high-delivery environments.
•Strong judgment and analytical thinking to anticipate risks, influence stakeholders, and act proactively.
•Relevant education or experience in Safety, Health and/or Environment; a health and safety certificate and a bachelor’s or master’s degree are preferred, and CRSP is an asset.
