Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist with the preparation of design drawings, plans, and supporting documentation using CAD and other design software.
  • •Support the development and delivery of traffic engineering, highways, and active travel schemes from concept through to detailed design.
  • •Help collect, analyze, and interpret traffic and transport data to support design decisions.
  • •Assist with highway, street, and traffic engineering design activities including signage and road markings, and support traffic management and traffic signal design.
  • •Participate in site visits, surveys, and inspections; contribute to technical reports, calculations, presentation materials, and maintain project records and administration.

Key Requirements

  • •A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
  • •Three A-Levels (or equivalent such as a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering), including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above (where required for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship).
  • •Interest in traffic, transport, or civil engineering and a desire to build a career in the industry.
  • •Aptitude for technical software, engineering design and drawing, with interest in tools such as AutoCAD or 3D modelling software.
  • •Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills.
