Key Responsibilities

  • •Own components and complex mechanical assemblies from requirements definition through prototyping, testing, and volume manufacturing.
  • •Create high-fidelity 3D models and fully defined 2D drawing packages in accordance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
  • •Design parts across multiple fabrication processes including CNC machining, weldments, sheet metal, injection molding, composite layups, and structural adhesive bonding.
  • •Validate structural, thermal, vibrational, and tolerance-stackup performance using hand calculations and FEA.
  • •Drive DFM/DFA activities such as 1D/3D tolerance stacks, DFMEAs, and tool-access assessments, and collaborate with Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Test teams plus suppliers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent education/work experience).
  • •2+ years of professional mechanical design experience taking hardware from concept through fabrication and functional test.
  • •Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD (NX, SolidWorks, or Creo) and modern PLM/PDM environments (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • •Working knowledge of engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T, including tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • •Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
