Job Summary

Serve as a Utility Person assigned across the deck, engine, and galley departments aboard Polar Tankers vessels. Under the direction of the Chief Mate, First Assistant Engineer, or Steward, you support sanitation, maintenance, mooring and cargo assistance, lookout duties, and emergency readiness drills. You must meet safety-sensitive requirements, operate safely around marine hazards, and maintain food-prep and cleanliness tasks when assigned to the galley.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform duties in the deck, engine, and galley departments as assigned by leadership.
•When assigned to the engine department, help maintain decks and ladder ways, support supplies/tool organization, assist with maintenance, and learn machinery operations.
•When assigned to the deck department, support sanitation, mooring line assistance, cargo operations support, upkeep of assigned equipment, and lookout duties as required.
•Participate in all drills and emergencies and assist with enforcement of rules, regulations, and pollution prevention.
•When assigned to the galley department, perform food preparation and support cleaning, garbage removal, and storage tasks as requested by the Steward.

Key Requirements

•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (not current employer).

•Ability to perform safety-sensitive duties, including physical work (lifting/pushing/pulling) and work aboard vessels for extended periods (away from home over two months).
