•Design, implement, and optimize Elasticsearch’s core storage and query engine components.
•Lead architectural evolution of storage engine components and resolve performance bottlenecks in indexing layouts, serialization formats, and resource utilization.
•Lead cross-organizational initiatives to build industry-leading observability solutions.
•Drive continuous operational and system improvements through clean coding standards and architectural clarity.
•Act as a subject matter expert and trusted technical advisor, triaging, resolving, and reviewing issues and pull requests.

Key Requirements

•Ability to collaborate across functions and transition between projects and codebases based on business priorities.
•Experience building high-performance, scalable database, search, or distributed systems with a focus on storage, indexing, query execution, and performance optimization.
•Strong core Java skills, including deep understanding of concurrency primitives and experience designing and optimizing data structures and algorithms.
•Experience efficiently indexing, storing, and querying time-series or logs data.
•Experience with one or more data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Prometheus, and understanding how they work.
