Job Summary

Experienced Senior Transport Planner to join the Development Planning and Management team in Birmingham or Bristol, delivering transport assessments, travel plans and masterplans. You will mentor junior staff, work with private/public sector clients and local authorities, and contribute to fee proposals while supporting projects across the UK with a focus on development-related transport analysis.

Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Supporting and taking responsibility for the production and delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Masterplans and other technical reports/ deliverables to support development.
•Working with other members of the Development Planning team, private and public sector clients, architects, planners and other professionals throughout the development life cycle.
•Mentoring of junior staff and supervising work carried out by junior members of the Development Planning team, ensuring that it is to the appropriate technical standard and is delivered to programme and budget.
•Supporting the preparation of fee proposals for new projects and working with the Team Leader and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to budget and programme.
•Supporting and attending meetings including client meetings and undertaking negotiations with Local Authorities and other regulatory bodies.

Key Requirements

•A degree in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Economics or similar.
•Membership of a relevant professional institution (CIHT, SoRSA, CILT, IHE, TPS, ICE).
•A Masters degree in a relevant subject is desirable, but is not essential.
•An excellent understanding and proven experience in the field of Development Planning.
•Experience in the preparation and ownership of development-related Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and similar.
