Key Responsibilities

  • •Design mechanical ground support equipment and production tooling in CAD through released drawings, including handling, lift, transport, and alignment/torque fixtures.
  • •Own the tooling and MGSE procurement runway against the facility schedule, managing tooling lists, long-lead items, vendor packages, and delivery dates.
  • •Qualify tooling and MGSE before use on flight hardware with load path analysis, proof load testing, lift certification, fit checks, and auditable qualification records.
  • •Design tooling and MGSE for cleanroom compatibility, selecting materials/coatings/lubricants/surface finishes to prevent particle generation and FOD.
  • •Design and deploy semi-automated assembly stations and mechanical automation, and manage tooling sustainment and as-used records in Foundry and Teamcenter.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related technical discipline).
  • •8+ years designing production tooling, fixtures, or MGSE for aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability industries.
  • •Portfolio showing tooling or MGSE personally designed through released drawings, fabrication, and on-floor use.
  • •Strong CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, or CREO) with GD&T best practices for tooling drawings.
  • •Experience qualifying and operating tooling/MGSE in cleanroom environments, including material/coating/lubricant selection and long-lead procurement planning.
