Key Responsibilities

  • •Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
  • •Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
  • •Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation and polite expressions.
  • •Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions at all times.
  • •Remain calm during interpreting sessions in emergencies (e.g., 911 calls) and handle high call volumes.

Key Requirements

  • •Fluency in Maltese and English; able to adapt to language-related cultural dynamics.
  • •Legally authorized to work in the United States; must have work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship
  • •High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old
  • •Ability to read and write the requested languages; strong listening and note-taking skills
  • •Experience or education in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred
