Job Summary

Design and implement Rio Tinto’s in-house electricity and environmental product settlements capability in Brisbane, building the systems, processes, controls, and reporting from the ground up. Manage settlements for PPAs, OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, and AEMO market settlements, translating market rules and contracts into scalable workflows. Partner with Trading, Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Technology while driving automation, continuous improvement, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial control.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and implementation of Rio Tinto’s in-house energy market settlements capability, including systems, processes, controls, and reporting.
•Manage electricity and environmental product settlements for PPAs, OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, and market settlements with AEMO.
•Translate market rules, contracts, and commercial requirements into accurate and scalable settlement processes.

•Experience with settlement, trading, or ETRM platforms, advanced Excel, SQL, and analyzing large market and interval datasets.
