Key Responsibilities

  • •Co-own the AI engineering team of roughly 30 forward deployed engineers alongside existing engineering leaders.
  • •Own team health and happiness through regular 1:1s, addressing disengagement, burnout, and bench frustration early.
  • •Run performance reviews using an FDE rubric that weighs consulting and technical skills equally.
  • •Level up the team through training, playbooks, checklists, pairing, and internal writeups to define and maintain baseline AI competency.
  • •Review architectures and provide technical guidance on evaluation strategy, instrumentation, and proving impact; step in as technical lead when needed.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years directly managing senior engineers, including hiring and performance management.
  • •Experience leading teams of 15+ engineers across multiple concurrent projects or engagements.
  • •Hands-on technical ability to review architectures, identify flaws, and propose improved approaches.
  • •Strong full-stack depth with TypeScript, React, Node.js, plus Python or Go.
