Key Responsibilities

  • •Spray paints vehicles and related equipment using enamel, lacquer, and vinyl materials for protection and appearance.
  • •Apply specialty coatings (e.g., crinkle finishes, nonskid, rubber, fluorescent touch-up) and create camouflage patterns using multiple colors.
  • •Mix, thin, and adjust paints with dryers/flattening agents; fill spray tanks, adjust spray guns, and maintain proper air pressure.
  • •Apply stencils, silk screens, and decals; read and interpret technical manuals/work requirements to select paint types, colors, and markings.
  • •Perform surface preparation, clean/maintain spray equipment, inspect surfaces, and provide guidance to lower-grade employees as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •3-5 years of experience in vehicle painting.
  • •High school Diploma/GED with Normal Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • •Ability to work on 2nd Shift based on workload and operational requirements.
  • •Read and interpret Technical Manuals (TMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), and Technical Bulletins (TBs) to determine paint types, colors, and markings.
  • •Follows all safety requirements in accordance with regulations and manufacturer instructions.
