Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage site water resources and water quality, including maintaining operational water balance in GoldSim and developing water management plans aligned with water governance initiatives.
  • •Lead development and updates of water and load balance models in GoldSim and perform predictive water quality modeling using geochemical modeling tools and support the geochemical program.
  • •Train and mentor junior technical staff on water management principles, water balance modeling, and water quality principles.
  • •Integrate water management into site operating decisions, performance tracking, and operational planning, including technical review and reporting for external consultants.
  • •Manage consultants/contractors and coordinate operational and project scopes, milestones, budgets, and success criteria; communicate progress and support external engagement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, Geologic, Environmental, Chemical, or related field).
  • •7–10 years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or water management, with strong preference for mine water management, hydrology, and water quality.
  • •Proven proficiency with water and load balance models and associated software (GoldSim) is required.
  • •Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail, plus demonstrated critical thinking and practical problem solving.
  • •Experience managing and training junior staff is considered an asset; knowledge of environmental regulations and mine tailings & water management principles is preferred.
