Job Summary

Supervise the scheduling and coordination of outbound and inbound shipments, including truck and driver assignments, dispatching carriers, and ensuring delivery and receiving appointments align with customer receiving times. Manage proper loading, inventory storage, freight documentation and DOT compliance, negotiate transportation rates, and audit freight bills. Handle tracing/expediting, shortages, claims for loss or damage, and maintain accurate data system records while resolving supplier and customer transportation issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and schedule outbound and inbound loads and coordinate with sales and production.
•Set up shipments with common carriers and outside freight companies; determine transportation mode and select carriers.
•Ensure loading, shipping orders, paperwork, and processes meet Universal and DOT regulations; establish delivery/receiving appointments.
•Manage internal equipment and drivers; notify drivers of assignments and verify the accuracy of drivers’ logs and records.
•Audit and approve freight bills, document shortages, investigate causes, file loss/damage claims, and trace/expedite orders while maintaining data system records.

Key Requirements

•Preferred bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
•Minimum of two years of experience as a Production Manager or equivalent.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines.
•Skills and abilities.
