Job Summary

Support marine operations as an Offshore Oiler by monitoring and maintaining engine-room machinery and auxiliary systems, recording readings, and reporting anomalies. Work under the direction of the First Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer to assist with troubleshooting and repairs, participate in drills and emergencies, and help enforce procedures, regulations, and pollution prevention. Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, deck/engine-room upkeep, and general maintenance during 12-hour workdays with overtime.

•Monitor equipment and perform routine maintenance on engine-room machinery and auxiliary systems.
•Clean and maintain equipment including main engine scavenge air box, lube/fuel oil purifiers and filters.
•Make rounds: record pressure and temperature readings and report anomalies.
•Participate in drills and emergencies and assist with enforcement of rules, procedures, regulations, and pollution prevention.
•Perform maintenance and upkeep tasks including tank soundings/topping off, deck/engine-room/living-space cleaning, lubrication/greasing, painting, and assisting with crane/rigging after training.

•Be able to perform the physical duties described (including lifting/pushing/pulling and confined space/environmental conditions) and be away from home for periods over two months.
