Key Responsibilities

  • •Own purchasing functions for assigned procurement of goods and/or raw materials, including source selection, negotiations, order placement, and follow-up.
  • •Negotiate prices and lead times with non-corporate contract vendors and resolve supplier quotation conflicts.
  • •Review drawings and specifications to estimate required quantities/material types and determine best procurement source.
  • •Plan and place material purchase orders to align material flow with plant/customer demand using MPS/MRP, consignment stock, kanban, and scheduling systems.
  • •Monitor supplier delivery performance using KPIs, expedite orders as needed, coordinate with management/production to prevent line stoppages, and support supplier performance improvements including shortage meetings, escalations, and visits.

Key Requirements

  • •CIPS certification (or equivalent).
  • •Proven materials management and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • •Demonstrated cost-down achievements and experience improving NWC (e.g., extending payment terms, reducing inventory, stocking policies).
  • •Experience scheduling using MRP/MPS and consignment stocking, including use of schedules/consignment/kanban systems.
  • •Experience of casting and machining, including managing subcontract machine shops.
