Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise the client on cost strategies; manage vendor prequalification; assess proposals/bids and bid leveling; recommend final outcomes; attend and chair bid interviews and appointments.
  • •Manage estimating services by developing project estimates, reviewing junior estimates, presenting estimates and value engineering recommendations, and challenging vendor costs using benchmarks.
  • •Establish and manage cost reporting (schedule, cost reports and forecasts), maintain a commercial risk register, and run periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
  • •Manage cost control by reviewing junior payment assessment work, recommending contractor entitlements, evaluating change orders/disputes, and supporting dispute prevention/management/resolution procedures.
  • •Manage invoicing and final accounting/post-contract audits, run post-contract reviews for lessons learned, and develop handover procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred, with preferred exposure to data center/mission-critical/advanced-technology projects.
