Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans based on outside referrals and manage each loan end-to-end from application through closing. Partner with sales leadership and a Senior Loan Originator to build referral relationships, learn mortgage origination processes, and maintain knowledge of loan products and underwriting guidelines. Collect documentation, use available technology to access rates and credit reports, follow escalation protocols, manage the loan pipeline through closing, and ensure strong customer service while meeting risk and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain referral contacts with sales leadership and an assigned Senior Loan Originator to support mortgage loan sales.
•Learn and perform mortgage loan origination tasks across guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures.
•Take mortgage applications by completing URLA on a laptop and collect appropriate documentation within management timeframes.
•Use available technology to access daily rates, applicant credit reports, originate loan files, and upload files to operations.
•Manage the originated loan pipeline through closing and provide timely status updates to branches and/or applicants while maintaining customer service expectations.

Key Requirements

•Originate residential 1st mortgage loans from application through closing, meeting management standards and objectives for mortgage loan sales.
•Work with sales leadership and an assigned Senior Loan Originator to develop internal and external referral contacts (e.g., realtors, builders, professional COIs).
•Learn and master mortgage loan origination components, including agency/portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures.
•Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures, available loan products, processing and underwriting guidelines, and complete required training on time.
•Use defined escalation protocol for underwriting and pricing exceptions and follow the application and documentation requirements (including completing URLA).
