Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the physical design, prototyping, and fabrication of production equipment.
  • •Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • •Create detailed mechanical designs in NX (3D modeling and 2D drawings) and select materials based on mechanical properties, environmental conditions, cost, and manufacturing processes.
  • •Perform and use FEA simulations to validate structural/dynamic performance and optimize for weight, cost, and manufacturability (DFM).
  • •Support production with mechanical subject-matter expertise: coordinate fixtures/equipment in DFM/DFA reviews, select and manage suppliers, oversee assembly/commissioning, and diagnose production issues while maintaining designs in PLM (Teamcenter).

Key Requirements

  • •BS, M.Eng, or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • •5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably mechanical design for manufacturing.
  • •Strong skills in NX for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation, plus familiarity with engineering standards and GD&T.
  • •Proficiency with FEA in NX, FEMAP, or ANSYS, including executing engineering calculations from first principles (e.g., lifting/loads, center of gravity).
  • •Experience managing projects from concept to completion and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 Security clearance.
