Job Summary

Support development engineer (DE) testing in a lab environment and on the production floor. Execute and coordinate engineering tests, interpret instructions into experimental outcomes, and troubleshoot tool/process issues. Perform wet process work (e.g., spin, slot die, inkjet coatings), maintain SOPs, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvements. Compile and analyze test data, oversee maintenance of operational equipment, and train others under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

•Support development engineer tests in lab and production environments by applying engineering and technical knowledge to drive experimental outcomes.
•Troubleshoot tool/process issues and recommend system improvements to achieve performance goals.
•Compile and analyze test data from performed testing.
•Perform wet process support (spin, slot die, inkjet processes) including SOP maintenance, x-training, and troubleshooting equipment/process/operations issues to ensure quality.
•Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering tests in the laboratory, and oversee maintenance while training others in the operational process.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 30.38 - 42.97 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer Technician I at First Solar.
•Associate’s degree in an engineering or similar technical discipline with 3 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer Technician I at First Solar.
•Ability to perform sample testing, semiconductor device fabrication, and/or electrical or optical measurements.
•Ability to troubleshoot basic to moderate process and equipment issues on the production line or in the lab.
•Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (JMP/SQL knowledge is a plus) and expert execution of experiments in a lab or floor environment.
