Job Summary

Install and troubleshoot low-voltage audiovisual systems for contracted AVI-SPL projects, including cable pulls/terminations, rack fabrication and wiring, and functionality testing. Lead installation crews on less complex jobs, read schematics/blueprints, oversee Level 1 technicians, and provide on-site client liaison support and daily status updates to the Project Manager. Travel between customer sites as needed and coordinate with other trades to meet scope, safety, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform installation tasks for contracted projects, including cable pulls/terminations, system equipment/component installation, and rack fabrication and wiring.
•Read and interpret project system schematics and architectural/construction blueprints.
•Use hand and power tools to solder/crimp connectors and complete AV installation tasks; test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.
•Demonstrate job site leadership by overseeing Level 1 technicians and coordinating/reporting progress to the Project Manager.
•Act as on-site customer liaison, direct on-site change requests to the Project Manager, coordinate with other trades, and manage jobsite tools/equipment.

Key Requirements

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical concepts to clients, colleagues, and vendors.
•Intermediate understanding of audiovisual systems (projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, control systems).
•Intermediate proficiency installing/terminating/troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) including conduit runs and cable trays.
•Intermediate ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and systems.
•2–4 years of audiovisual installation experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; ability to lead small site teams and work independently to meet deadlines.
