Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families at assigned installations.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop, make available, and share informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a range of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Use virtual counseling/electronic communication modes (web chat, video, secure teleconference) when authorized and manage DoD duty-to-warn situations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (or associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
