Job Summary

Operate grinding and classifying circuits up to the flotation circuit to maximize production and minimize costs while maintaining operational sustainability. You’ll be accountable for field equipment covering SAG/ball milling, hydro-cyclones, flotation units, conveying systems, and dust scrubbers—conducting pre-start checks, inspections, adjustments, cleaning, safe start-up/shutdown, and diagnosing defects. Maintain strong housekeeping and safety (HSE), report incidents promptly, meet KPIs, and support maintenance during execution of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate field equipment for the grinding and classifying circuits through the flotation circuit to deliver slurry, achieving throughput and KPI targets.
•Perform thorough pre-start checks, equipment inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and ensure start-up/shutdown procedures are executed safely and promptly.
•Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards, ensure HSE compliance, report incidents promptly, and escalate unsafe conditions or required corrections.
•Ensure effective dust control and perform routine tasks including field check-sheets and equipment inspections in a timely and accurate manner.
•Diagnose plant defects, ensure they are immediately addressed, support maintenance tasks, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 3 years of prior experience operating a wet processing plant, particularly a grinding circuit (SAG and/or ball mill exposure).
•Flotation experience is highly regarded.
•Prior experience in plant commissioning and ramp up is desirable.
•Full Grade Twelve (G12) certificate and a certificate in metallurgy, chemical engineering, mineral processing, or a related field.
•Fluency in English and basic understanding of mechanical and instrumentation equipment, with computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
