Job Summary

Maintain and optimize mold and machine shop equipment to ensure only quality products are released. Interpret blueprints and written instructions, plan setup and operation of machine shop tools, perform inspection with measuring/gauging instruments, and fabricate/modify mold parts and dies. Set up, run off, and test molds, trace die difficulties, and make necessary modifications, with possible support for injection molding press overhauls and product-design manufacturability.

•Maintain equipment in top working order by working with maintenance personnel and mold technicians as needed to support quality production.
•Read and interpret blueprints or instructions and fit/copy parts as required.
•Plan setups and operate machine shop tools, including heat treating and welding parts as required.
•Fit and assemble mold parts/tools/dies, set up and test molds to meet specifications, and modify molds based on die difficulty root cause.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years industrial maintenance/manufacturing or technical school and/or an Associate degree from an accredited technical institute.
•Read and interpret blueprints and work from verbal or written instructions, sketches, or the actual part to be copied or fitted.
•Plan and operate machine shop tools considering material types, tolerances, and machine feeds/speeds.
•Use precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspections before, during, and after machining.
•Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic, and injection molding machines; familiarity with hot runner mold systems is highly preferred.
