Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership and aquatic ecology input across EIA, planning, mitigation, and multi-disciplinary projects.
  • •Support the Team Leader with business development in Scotland and contribute to Aquatic Ecology activities nationwide.
  • •Author and review technical reports and produce Ecological Impact Assessment documents in line with CIEEM guidelines.
  • •Manage aquatic ecology input into projects, including survey design and costing, plus data analysis and processing.
  • •Mentor and line manage members of the Aquatic Ecology team and support delivery of diverse aquatic ecology work.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience of ecological impact assessment (EcIA/EIA) and WFD compliance assessment.
  • •Understanding of industry-standard monitoring techniques and analyses for aquatic ecology, including consenting/permitting requirements.
  • •Knowledge of legislation relating to the aquatic environment, particularly the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
  • •Understanding of WFD-compliant monitoring techniques for aquatic ecology.
  • •Full UK driving licence.
