Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide shipyard systems and installation engineering support for assigned NSS projects.
  • •Solve design issues and propose baseline changes during production and commissioning, coordinating with Thales resources, the customer, suppliers, and production teams.
  • •Provide engineering support for installation, STW/HAT/SAT tests, and inspections when issues arise.
  • •Support engineering change process work items and collaborate with the Ottawa project team to resolve production issues.
  • •Assist with commissioning activities including inspections and system power-on and configuration; support verification/validation and risk mitigation.
  • •Creating high-level conceptual designs for changes to ship designs and gaining agreement on top-level documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in an Electrical/Systems/Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited university and in 3rd year.
  • •Experience with design projects, specifically electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • •High level oral and written communication skills for report writing and design justification documentation.
  • •Ability to work on-site in the shipyard in both production and commissioning environments.
  • •Experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings and electrical schematics (preferred).
