Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare and review HV/MV substation deliverables (single line diagrams, GA layouts, grounding and lightning protection drawings, and related documentation) for solar PV plants.
  • •Perform and check electrical design calculations including grounding/earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit, auxiliary loads, and equipment sizing.
  • •Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, BOQs, and material requisitions for substation systems.
  • •Support selection and review of major substation equipment and reactive power compensation components (e.g., transformers, switchgear, CTs/VTs, surge arresters, harmonic filters, shunt reactors/capacitor banks).
  • •Coordinate across solar, grid interconnection, civil/structural, protection/control/SCADA, and construction teams, and review vendor submittals to ensure standards and grid-code compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •4–8 years of experience in substation design engineering.
  • •Proven experience delivering HV/MV substation primary designs and equipment selection.
  • •Strong understanding of substation primary systems and engineering interfaces, including secondary interfaces.
  • •Knowledge of relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and utility/client requirements.
