Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise the client on bid strategies, manage vendor prequalification, assess proposals/bids, chair bid interviews, and make final recommendations.
  • •Develop and present project estimates; review junior team estimations; deliver value engineering recommendations and risk assessments; validate vendor costs using benchmarks.
  • •Establish cost reporting schedules; review and present cost reports/forecasts; manage a commercial risk register; host periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
  • •Control costs by reviewing payment application assessments, recommending contractor entitlements, evaluating change order requests, and using dispute prevention/management/resolution procedures.
  • •Manage invoicing, benchmarking, final accounting, post-contract audits/account close outs, post-contract reviews, and handover procedures (including SOX control responsibilities where applicable).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3-5 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects.
  • •Strong communication skills and good knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
