Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop highway designs on multi-disciplinary projects across the project lifecycle.
  • •Ensure delivery to programme, budget, technical standards, and legal requirements.
  • •Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians to support their professional development.
  • •Assist Project Managers with planning, programming, technical input, pricing of briefs and proposals, and cost estimation.
  • •Prepare and review design documentation, drawings, reports, and technical submissions, coordinating resources to deliver work packages effectively.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience within a highway design environment.
  • •Chartered Engineer preferred, or working towards IEng or CEng status with a relevant professional institution.
  • •Experience in multidisciplinary highway design across different project stages.
  • •Technical knowledge of road geometry, junction design, active travel schemes, drainage systems, road restraint systems, and traffic signs/road markings.
  • •Familiarity with design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, and Local Authority guidance, including Technical Approvals and Departures from Standards.
