Job Summary

Join the Engineering team in Elyria to design and improve electro-mechanical systems used in Nelson drawn arc welding equipment. Create CAD drawings and assembly documentation using NX Unigraphics, develop system diagrams, specify electrical components, and build prototypes for testing. Partner with Operations, Service, Purchasing, and Quality to troubleshoot technical issues, support validation testing, and provide technical assistance to service and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Become familiar with the makeup and functioning of Nelson drawn arc welding systems.
•Create CAD drawings/models in NX Unigraphics (UG) and produce final assembly drawings, manuals, and bills of materials.
•Develop system diagrams and electro-mechanical circuitry/devices to support new applications, improvements, and cost savings.
•Select and specify electronic and electrical components based on function, cost, availability, and reliability.
•Build and support prototype test assemblies and help validate testing; assist internal teams and provide technical assistance to customers as needed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred).
•Prefer 2+ years designing electromechanical systems (e.g., electric motors, solenoids, sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic units, PLCs, servo drives).
•Experience working from electrical schematics, rough sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, layouts, or plans requiring interpretation.
•Hands-on experience with multi-meters and oscilloscopes, plus familiarity with assembly tools and test/validation work.
•Preferred: 2+ years of Unigraphics (UG) design experience and user-level experience with PDM tools (PTC/WindChill).
